The Organizing Committee of the 1st International Chess Marketing Seminar announces the first details about the event. Attached you can find one of the seminar brochures including 10 speakers and the titles of their presentation. Moreover in this press release you can find more details about the speakers. Final program of Seminar includes 12-15 presentation and 2 round table discussions.

We would like to thank European Chess Union Board and President Boris Kutin for their support in the organization of this seminar. ECU is working constantly and successfully in projects related with the popularization and promotion of Chess.

ALBERT VASSE      Title of Presentation:    Chess!!  Got the message?

 

CEO and Marketing Manager of DGT projects. DGT Projects is one of the most successful companies in Chess and I am personally responsible for the marketing of DGT Projects since 1993.  Apart from this we were and are, as a company, directly involved in the organization of many chess events,  from worldchampionship down to local events. Further I have personal experience as tournament director and organizer as well as international arbiter in e.g. Kramnik-Leko WC match and computer matches like Kasparov versus X3D Fritz and Kramnik - Deep Fritz Bonn. 

 

ALI NIHAT YAZICI      Title of Presentation:    Chess as a Mass Product!

Ali Nihat attended the Technical University of Istanbul to study electronic and communication engineering.  In 1994 he did an MBA degree at the Middle East Technical University, and in 1996 completed the highest honour degree of IAB (International Academy of Broadcasting) in Montreux, Switzerland. He has worked as an engineer in the Turkish Radio Television Corporation, becoming Chief Engineer of the TRT in 1992, and Head of the TV department of TRT in 1999. In 2000 Ali,, was elected President of Turkish Chess Federation. He is Deputy President of the MCA (Mediterranean Chess Association), ex-Chairman of FIDE's Chess in Schools Commission, FIDE Rules and Tournaments Regulations Committee Member, a FIDE International Arbiter and FIDE international Chess Organiser. The Federation expects to have, one million members by the end of 2008. They are aiming at 12,000 chess teachers for the Primary Schools. Ali has organized numerous chess events, among them major World and European Championships.

 

 

THEODOROS TSORBATZOGLOU

 

Title of Presentation:   Chess the driving force of Sports’ Tourism

 

Theodoros Tsorbatzoglou lives in Thessaloniki. He is a graduated Mechanical Engineer of Thessaloniki University. Educated in internet marketing and European Union programs and funds. Founder and Management Director of Event Consulting Co., Marketing and Communication Consultant of G-Hotels Group of Companies and sales advisor of a Real Estate company based in Greece. Theodoros is a FIDE Master, executive counselor of Thessaloniki Chess Club and organizer of major sports events like World and European Youth Championships, World School championships, European Club Cup, Open and closed International tournaments, Games Festivals, International Jet Ski and Beach Soccer competitions.

 

ALISA MARIC     Title of Presentation: Emergence of Chess Marketing

Alisa Maric earned BS and MS in economics, PhD in marketing, and WGM and IM in chess. She teaches sports marketing and principles of marketing at universities in Belgrade. Her book "Principles of marketing" is widely used at marketing courses. Alisa Maric has been the first board of the Yugoslav Chess Olympic team since 1986. She is the winner of two Olympic medals, the winner of three European Club Cups, and was twice the third at the World Championships for Women. She has organized many media chess events including creating and editing her own weekly TV chess show  "Alisa in the Land of Chess" (TV Politika). Alisa is a member of the Presidential Board of Olympic Committee of Serbia. She was a member of EOC WG "New Ways of Communications". She got a very high national award for promoting chess in schools.

 

STRATOS GRIVAS

Title of Presentation:    Chess Books - Writing and Publishing Procedures

Grandmaster Efstratios Grivas lives in Athens, and he is also a Senior FIDE Trainer (Board Member of the FIDE Trainers' Committee), an International FIDE Chess Arbiter and an International FIDE Chess Organizer. He has represented his country on a great many occasions, winning an individual gold medal at the 1989 European Team Championship and an individual silver medal at the 1998 Olympiad. Efstratios Grivas is cooperating with the Greek and Turkish Chess Federations as a federal trainer. Finally, he is an experienced writer, cooperating, among others, with "Kedros SA", "Klidarithmos SA", "GambitBooks Ltd", "NewInChess Ltd", "ChessBase GmbH", "Black&White Ltd", "Everyman Ltd" and "ChessCafe.com.

 

 

SAVA KIZOVA   

 

Title of Presentation:    European Chess Grand Prix. The new Challenge!

 

 

Sava Kizova is the European Grand-Prix Director appointed by European Chess Union. She graduated from the Belgrade Bussines School, accounting, finance and banking The Grand-Prix will start early 2007 and will include among official ECU events some of the most renowned European tournaments. Ms. Kizova is FIDE International Arbiter, a strong FIDE Master and she was a key expert in implementations of the MonRoi system at the World School Championship in Greece , the 81 st Hasting Chess Congress in England , the Karpov – Portisch rapid match in Novi Sad and at the World Youth U20 Championship in Istanbul. Sava Kizova is one of the key members of the team which managed several world and European Chess events for Serbia and Montenegro federation.

 

 

 

 

IGOR GLEK  

 

Title of Presentation:     Creation of International Chess Fan Club of ACP.
                         Projects of the World League of Chess Tournaments (WLCT).

 

Igor Glek has ended engineering-economic faculty of the Moscow University of the petrol and gas. He worked as economist. Since 1989 he is professional chess player, in 1990 the title of International Grand Master was granted. Since 1989 - also chess coach and chess writer. Winner of more than 100 international chess tournaments. From 2001 to 2003 worked by one of the biggest energy concerns in Germany – RWE as representative of trade international.   On 2003: was on of the founders of Association of Chess Professionals and since January 2004 ACP Board Member. Today is Technical Director of International Chess Festival “Moscow Open”, member of FIDE Committees “Youth and Junior Events” and “Chess in School”, President of The Word League of Chess Tournaments (WLCT) and Coordinator of “ACP International Fan Club”.
