The Chess Champions League  took place at the Gran Hotel Lakua in Vitoria-Gasteiz from November 1 to November 15 2007 and it was organized for charity cause. Former World Champions, Anatoly Karpov, Veselin Topalov, Ruslan Ponomariov, Rustam Kasimdzhanov, Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu (who replaced Alexander Khalifman due to sudden illness at the last minute!) and Judit Polgar (as the highest rated female player) competed.
Veselin Topalov is the absolute winner of the tournament with a convincing 1.5 point difference from Ponomariov who finished second.
