Regulations: Swiss System 9 rounds, invitational FIDE rated
tournament, 60 players, minimum required FIDE rating 2200, GM & IM title
norms possible, FIDE time-control (90 minutes for 40 moves followed by 15
minutes until the end of the game plus an incremental time of 30 seconds per
move from move 1). Tie-break criteria: If only two (2) players tie, the
result of their game. Otherwise, the following order of tiebreak
criteria apply: a. average rating of opponents, b. sum of progressive
scores, c. Buchholz, d. Sonnenborg-Berger. In all cases, FIDE rules apply.
Prizes (in EUR): 1st: 3.000, 2nd: 2.000, 3rd: 1.500, 4th: 1.000, 5th:
800, 6th: 600, 7th: 500, 8th: 400, 9th-15th: 300 each, 16th-20th: 200 each,
21st-25th: 150 each.
Juniors U20 (born 1/1/1985 and later): 1st: 200, 2nd: 150, 3rd: 100.
Veterans (born 31/12/1945 and earlier): 1st: 200, 2nd: 150, 3rd: 100.
Greek players: 1st: 300, 2nd: 250, 3rd: 200, 4th-5th:150 each, 6th-8th: 100
each.
In case of a tie, cash prizes are divided equally.
If a player is entitled to more than one cash prizes, he receives all of
them.
Registration: Deadline for registrations: 11 February 2005. Every
participation must be confirmed by the GCF. The Organizing Committee
therefore reserves the right to decline applications at any stage, even
before the deadline expires.
Entry Fee: 40 EUR (30 EUR for players born 1/1/1985 and later). No
entry fee for GMs & IMs.
