The Israeli Championship Finals took place in "Sissy and Sol Mark Center" in Tel Aviv, 24.11 - 03.12.2002. This year the tournament organized in a swiss format, with 3 players qualifying by rating (Smirin, Sutovsky, Greenfeld), two last year's champions (Avrukh and Gershon), a current junior champion (Erenburg) and 26 qualifiers from the semi-finals.

Final Standings:
1-3. Smirin Ilya, Avrukh Boris, Gofshtein Zvulun 6.5, 4-5. Roiz Michael, Sutovsky Emil 6.0, 6-8. Greenfeld Alon, Golod Vitali, Tseitlin Mark 5.5
1. Botvinnik Irina 7.5, 2. Vasiliev Olga 6.5, 3-6. Yudasina Irina, Borsuk Angela, Igla Bella, Tsifanskaya Ludmila 5.5
