             The Association of Greeks from Egypt [S.A.E.] organizes an International Women’s Chess Tournament in memory of Aphrodite Vazelaki.

 

            Afrodite Vazelaki was an active member of the Chess Section of S.A.E. for 21 full years, a lover of the sport and a beautiful game. With her high moral standards and gentle attitude, she won over all chess opponents and attracted both admiration and respect.

The tournament will take place in the club house  -  56, 3 September street  - first floor

 

Rate of Play:

90’ for the end game for each player, with additional time of 30’’ for each move, starting from move 1

The recording of moves is mandatory until the end of the game.

 

 

Prizes:

The first three players will win Special Trophies/Cups, in addition to the money prizes.

Money prizes are guaranteed, but may increase, depending on the level of sponsoring.

In case of ties in number of game points within same category, money prizes are divided equally among the tied players.

 

Tie breaks:

Regarding trophies, medals and other special prizes, ties are resolved as follows:          

·        Sum of Progressive Scores

·        Number of Wins

 

Appeals, Appeals Committee:

Any appeal against a referee’s decision must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Director and supported by a deposit of 85 euro.

Each appeal will be examined by the Appeals Committee, composed by the Chairman of the FIDE Arbiters’ Council Mr. Panagiotis Nikolopoulos and two chessplayers that will be elected by the participants before the beginning of the 1st round.
