18th World Microcomputer Chess Championships
18/8-23/8/2001, Maastricht - Netherlands
The 6th Computer Olympiad was a multi-games event in which all
of the participants were computer programs. The purpose was to
find the strongest programs at each of the games, partly as an
academic exercise and partly because the competitions are fun.
This year's Computer Olympiad took place from August 18th to
23rd and were played at the Ad Fundum of the Universiteit
Maastricht, Maastricht, The Netherlands.
After nine rounds of the ICCA world
microcomputer championship in Maastricht the winner with an
incredible 8/9 points was the Israeli program Deep Junior.
Deep Junior 7 is the champion, Shredder is the single-processor
champion, and Gromit won the amateur title.
