My
name is Banikas Hristos and Ι was born at 20/05/1978 in Thessaloniki.I
am now studying computer science in Macedonia University Of
Thessaloniki. I started playing chess at the
age of 10. My
chess carrier started from the DEH Chess Academy and i still play for
this club.
My best results till now are:
1) 1st In the greek championship under 12 in 1990,
2) 1st In the greek championship under 16 in 1993,
3)1st in the greek championship under 20 in 1996.
In International level my best results are:
1) 3rd in WYC (World Youth Championship) under 18 in 1996 in Minorca,
Spain ,
2) 3rd in WYC under 20 in 1997 in Zagan ,Poland,
3) 3rd in EYC under 20 in 1997 in Talin, Estonia,
4) 3rd in WYC under 20 in 1998 , in India,
5) 2nd in Youth Team Olympiad in malta in 1994. The latest was one of
the biggest successes in international team competitions for Greece
ever.
My
latest success was the 1st place in the 50th Men's Greek Championship
in 2000. I am also a chess trainer the last 6 years. I like helping
young players improving their chess, as many other trainers did the
same for me and I thank them very much for
this. I spend most of my time playing chess or training others.
In my free time Ι like playing bridge and football, and i also
like reading. I recently became a GM and I
am looking forward to playing against Deep Junior.
