The "Tenth Amber Blindfold and Rapid Chess Tournament" will be held at the Metropole Palace Hotel in Monaco, from 17th March until 29th March 2001.
The sponsor is the Maecenas Mr. J.J. van Oosterom, who also sponsors several other chess and billiard events.

The players are listed below:
Viswanathan Anand, Vassily Ivanchuk, Vladimir Kramnik, Anatoly Karpov, Peter Leko, Jeroen Piket, Alexei Shirov, Veselin Topalov, Loek van Wely, Boris Gelfand, Zoltan Almasi, Ljubomir Ljubojevic will participate to the Amber Blindfold and Rapid Chess Tournament that will be held at the Metropole Palace Hotel in Monaco from 17th to 29th of March 2001. 

The Schedule is: rounds 1,2,3, & 4 on 17-20/3, rounds 5,6,7 & 8 22-25/3 and rounds 9,10, & 11 27-29/3. 
The grandmasters will play every day from 01.30 p.m. until approximately 8 p.m.

Every day the grandmasters will play one rapid game with duration of about one hour, and one blindfold game. Both games will be played with the Fischer Clock.

The blindfold games will be played with computers. An empty chessboard will appear on the player's screen. The moves are made with a mouse or with the keyboard. Each move will appear in written on both screens. After confirmation of receipt, the opponent's clock will start and the move will disappear.

However, the arbiter and the spectators can follow the entire game on monitors that are not visible to the grandmasters.
