Take tram no 7 from Rotterdam Central Station to "Burgemeester Oudlaan". Get out at the last stop which is at the University complex.

By Car

From A-16 motorway take the exit "Centrum". Follow the signs "Centrum" on the roundabout "Kralingse Plein". Now you are on the &quotAbram v. Rijckevorselweg". Immediately keep the right lane and turn right at the traffic lights. First left and park on P4.

Audience is welcome to visit the tournament during play. Entry is free.

From the regulations

Classification

The individual classification for both tournaments will be established on the basis of: The total number of game points scored. In case of a tie, where the players involved have all played only against rated opponents, after eliminating the lowest rated opponent, find the sum of opponents’ ratings. The highest total wins. If still tied, eliminate the rating of the next lowest rated opponents(s) until a decision is possible. In case of a tie, where the players involved have not played all only rated players, the tie will be broken by the sum of the progressive scores. The highest total wins. If still tied, deduct the first round score, and if necessary the second round and so on.

The team classification will be determined by the three best results of at least one man and one woman of the same team. Only in case that the number of male participants should be equal or more than 1.5 times the number of female participants, the team ranking will be done with the best results of 2 men and 1 woman. Only in case that the number of female participants should be equal or more than 1.5 times the number of male participants, the team classification will be done with the best results of 2 women and 1 man.

Teams with insufficient male or female players will not be taken into account for the team classification.

Time Limit

In this tournament the official FIDE DGT clock will be used.

The time limit is:
40 moves in 100 minutes
followed by 20 moves in 50 minutes
finally 10 minutes for the remaining moves
From the first move 30 seconds will be added after each move.

Pairings

Pairings will be made according to the Swiss System Based on Rating approved by the 1992 General Assembly and published in the FIDE handbook (C.04 page 1-7);

Due to the specific situation of the FISU championship (combination of individual and team classification) the pairing of players of the same team should be avoided as much as possible, in the rounds 1 to 7 inclusive;

In round 8 and 9, players of the same team will not be paired against each other;

The pairings will be published as soon as possible after the finish of the last game of the previous round and posted in the lobby of the hotel and in the tournament hall.
