areas: 1,17%The economy of the Prefecture is flourfishing, and is characterized by
balanced development in all sectors.
The per capital income in 1995 is estimated at $ 9.240 and ceeds the
average for Greece by 9.811% (KEPE). The agricultural sector is highly developed,
especially in fruit production.
Irrigated areas amount to 209.095.000sq. meters of 25% of the cultivated areas.

The main exports from the Prefecture are
agricultural produce such as lemons, oranges, sultanas, Corinthian grapes apricots and industrial products such processed agricultural
produce, foods tins of meat, soya flour, bottled water, fruit juices, petroleum products,
cables, pipes, metal boxes, sanitary ware, paper products.
In commerce, following its ancient tradition, Corinth plays an important
role in the Greek economy. A number of companies in the Prefecture occupy leading
positions in the nation as a whole. Other units are also coming into action, covering a
broad spectrum of the secondary and tertiary sector, such as drugs, drinks, timber etc.

the population can be broken as follows: 46% in the primary sector, 24% in the secondary
