Ασταμάτητος Πολωνός!
Απόλυτο σκορ 6/6 για τον Κεμπίνσκι
Ο Ρόμπερτ Κεμπίνσκι εξακολουθεί να είναι –προς το παρόν- ο απόλυτος
κυρίαρχος του φετινού «Ίκαρου» αφού μετά τον 6ο γύρο είναι ο μόνος
χωρίς βαθμολογικές απώλειες (6/6!) και, φυσικά, βρίσκεται στην
κορυφή της βαθμολογίας. Στον χτεσινό 6ο γύρο ο Πολωνός γκρανμαίτρ
νίκησε σε 34 κινήσεις και τον Ουζμπέκο γκρανμαίτρ Σεργκέι
Ζαγκρεμπέλνι σε μία Αγγλική που στην πραγματικότητα εξελίχθηκε σε
Σικελική με αντίστροφα χρώματα!
Στις υπόλοιπες παρτίδες στα πρώτα τραπέζια ο Σέρβος Μάρκους νίκησε
τον Αυστριακό Γκροτζ, οι δύο Πολωνοί γκρανμαίτρ Μίστα και Μπόμπρας
έκαναν σύντομη φιλική ισοπαλία, ο Ρώσος Βορομπιόβ νίκησε τον Ολλανδό
Ντε Χάαν ενώ ο Βλάντιμιρ Τουκμάκοβ νίκησε τη Ρωσίδα Μαρία Μανάκοβα η
οποία, παρά την ήττα της, έκλεψε τις εντυπώσεις με το ανάλαφρο
ντύσιμό της.
Από τις υπόλοιπες σκακίστριες πολύ καλή πορεία πραγματοποιεί ως τώρα
η Γεωργιανή διεθνής μαιτρ γυναικών Ίνγκα Χουρτσιλάβα ενώ από τους
Έλληνες σκακιστές κοντά στην κορυφή παρέμεινε ο Γιώργος Νικολάου
(έκανε ισοπαλία χτες με τον Ρώσο διεθνή μαιτρ Όλεγκ Σπίριν αφού
πέρασε μερικές δύσκολες στιγμές) ενώ πλησίασαν και οι Φραγκίσκος
Σιγάλας, Νίκος Αγγελής και Μάριος Τασσόπουλος (όλοι με 4,5/6) οι
οποίοι σημείωσαν νίκες.
Στη βαθμολογία προηγείται ο Κεμπίνσκι με 6/6 και ακολουθεί ο Μάρκους
με 5,5, βαθμούς και οι Βορομπιόβ, Τουκμάκοβ, Μίστα, Χουρτσιλάβα
(πρώτη γυναίκα), Ρις και Κλιπ όλοι με 5 βαθμούς.
Στο σημερινό 7ο γύρο ξεχωρίζει φυσικά η συνάντηση μεταξύ των δύο
πρωτοπόρων Μάρκους-Κεμπίνσκι ενώ αρκετά πράγματα θα ξεκαθαρίσουν για
τη συνέχεια οι συναντήσεις Βορομπιόβ-Ρις, Κλιπ-Μίστα και
Τουκμάκοβ-Χουρτσιλάβα.
Οι αγώνες διεξάγονται στο Κλειστό Γυμναστήριο του Αγίου Κηρύκου,
μόνιμο τόπο διεξαγωγής του τουρνουά τα τελευταία χρόνια. Μετά από
μία φάση διαρκών μετακινήσεων και αλλαγών (από το παλιό δημαρχείο
στο γυμνάσιο και πάλι πίσω) ο «Ίκαρος» βρήκε ένα φιλόξενο και άνετο
χώρο. Η θέση του γυμναστηρίου στο λόφο του Ξερόκαμπου πάνω από τον
Άγιο Κηρυκο εξασφαλίζει δροσιά (λόγω του δροσερού αέρα που φυσά
διαρκώς το καλοκαίρι στην Ικαρία) αλλά και εξαιρετική θέα προς το
Ικάριο Πέλαγος (όταν ο καιρός είναι καθαρός φαίνεται το Μοναστήρι
της Αποκάλυψης στην Πάτμο αλλά ακόμη και τα μικρασιατικά παράλια).

Round 6 - Kempinski dominates Ikaros 2009
Robert Kempinski seems to be in command –up to now- in Ikaros 2009
since after the 6th round he is the only player with a perfect score
(6/6!) and keeps his lead. On the 6th round the grandmaster from
Poland beat the Uzbek grandmaster Sergey Zagrebelny in 34 moves in a
game that started as an English Opening only to turn into a reversed
Sicilian!
In the other top games, Serbian Robert Markus beat the Austrian
Harald Groetz, the two Polish grandmasters Mista and Bobras made a
quick friendly draw, the Russian Evgeny Vorobiov won against the
Eric de Haan from Holland while Vladimir Tukmakov beat Maria Mankova
who, despite this loss, has a good tournament so far.
From the other female players the Georgian WIM Inga Khurtsilava has
performed well up to now and is currently the leading female player
while among the greek players Giorgos Nikolaou, after achieving a
hard fought draw against Russian IM Oleg Sprin, remained near the
top and the same goes for Frangiskos Sigalas, Nikos Aggelis and
Marios Tassopoulos (all with 4.5/6) who won their games.
Currently Kempinski with 6/6 is in the lead followed by Markus (5.5
points) and Vorobiov, Tukmakov, Mista, Khurtsilava, Ris and Klip
(all with 5.0 points).
In the 7th round today the game between the two leaders
Markus-Kempinski is of great importance for both players while the
other games Vorobiov-Ris, Klip-Mista and Tukmakov-Khurtsilava are
equally important.
This years Ikaros Chess Festival takes place at the Sports Center of
Aghios Kirykos. After a period that the tournament had to change
location every year (from the old town hall to the high school and
back to town hall) it seems that the new venue fits very well the
needs of the festival. Spacy and located on the hill of Xerokampos
above Aghios Kirykos the playing venue combines good playing
conditions (the ever blowing wind of Ikaria keeps the temperature at
very reasonable levels) with an excellent view to the Aegean Sea
(when the sky is clear one can see the Monastery of Apocalypses in
the island of Patmos or even the shores of Asia Minor!).
